The BJP on Friday launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his controversial remarks on Rafale jets used during India’s Operation Sindoor. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra labeled him the “Babbar of Pakistan”, accusing the Congress of repeatedly undermining the Indian armed forces and aligning with Pakistan’s narrative.
Addressing a press conference, Patra questioned why Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy constantly demand information on Indian losses rather than focusing on Pakistan’s damage. He even claimed that the ongoing 'Jai Hind Yatra' appears more like a 'Jai Pakistan Yatra', citing a pattern of statements that allegedly weaken India’s international stand.
The remarks came after Reddy, during a rally in Hyderabad, demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi reveal how many Rafale jets were shot down by Pakistan during the recent military conflict. The BJP responded sharply, saying such statements insult Indian soldiers and the sacrifices made during the Pahalgam terror response. The party also alleged that Reddy referred to Pakistan as “Mana Pakistan”, a claim that sparked further backlash.
Amid heightened political tensions, Patra said Congress leaders were becoming symbolic “Gabbar” characters — enemies of Indian pride — and would meet the same fate as the villain from Sholay. BJP leaders also slammed Congress for “mocking” security operations, suggesting that leaders like Revanth Reddy should focus on beauty pageants, not national defense.
